HomeChurch of Christ, Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge Church of Christ, (p. 472 Obion County History, 1981) is located about two miles northeast of Elbridge on the Ira Wright Rd., earlier known as Shady Grove. It probably met first in Mitchell School. A document, dated March 18, 1848, states that the church was worshiping at Shady Grove Meeting House at that time. The document further recommended our beloved brother, Adam Huffstutter, a faithful and worthy member of the church, to all such orders and chores of the church.

In 1915 the present building was constructed. This small rural congregation has continued to meet with descendants of the founding families still among the congregation.
