April 21, 1937

Mr. Will N. Calhoun Ridgley, Tennessee

Dear Cousin:

Your letter of the 19th Inst. received on the morning of the 20th of April, my birthday.  I have had my secretary make typewritten copies of the letter, and returning a carbon copy herewith in order that you may recheck the same, if you so desire.   I am mailing a copy of your letter to my father, Henry Oliver Calhoun, 453 Missouri Avenue, West Plains, Mo.  I am mailing a carbon copy to Mrs. Mollie Hunter, 1244 Cypress Street, San Diego, Cal.  As you will recall that Mollie A. Hunter is my father’s oldest sister, and if I am correct as to her age, she is now about 83 years of age, the same age that grandfather Augustus Newton Calhoun was in 1907.

We have been having some real nice April weather here until today and has been getting warmer, but today it has been raining and continues warm at 70 fahrenheit now. Not much that I can write at this time unless I start to talking shop, and we certainly have been busy getting out decrees., orders, reports in estates, petition in guardianship and trusts and one set of adoption papers today.  I am enclosing herewith a postcard of our new court house that is nearing completion and which the county officials hope to move into along about the first of August this year.  I certainly notice what you say in the latter part of your letter of the 19th instant and you may rest assured if I get half a chance I will visit you, and I only hope that father will be able to come along with me sometime this summer. I am also sending a copy of your letter to Miss Georgia Elvira Calhoun at Glen Mora, La.  It may be that she will be able to furnish us with some additional information along the line set out in your letter of the 19th instant.

Let me take this opportunity to assure you and thank you again for your kindness in writing me the letter setting out all of the facts and information in this splendid letter of yours of April 19. 1 am
