- The above photos are tintypes of James and Rebecca Cherry Autry said to have been taken circa 1870.
- They lived in the part of Obion County that became Lake County that year.
- James was b. 8 Nov 1824 in probably Hickman County, Tn.
- Rebecca was b. about 1849 in Tennessee
- She was a daughter of John Cherry and Elizabeth unknown.
- James moved with his parents and siblings to Obion County during the 1840’s.
- He first married Susan Elizabeth Tanner 13 May 1856 in Obion Co.
- She was a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Nancy Key Tanner.
- She died about 1864 and is buried at Hornridge Cemetery.
- The above is a photo of Powhattan and Amanda Peters Autry and their surviving children.
- It was taken about 1907 in, or near, Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas.
- Powhattan was b. 13 Nov 1866 in Obion County and was a son of James and Rebecca Cherry Autry.
- This photo and information was provided by Wayne Bigley.
- This is a photo of Sarah Scott Autry Guthrie Bigley taken in Nebraska.
- Not sure of the date, but she died 21 Jun 1917.
- Sarah was a sister of James Autry. She was b. 27 May 1831 in probably Hickman County, Tn.
- She first married Frederick C. Guthrey 28 Feb 1856 in Obion County
- Frederick was a son of Walker Guthrie and unknown wife.
- He died during the war.
- She remarried in Jasper County, Mo.
Hi cuz! I’m working on finding out more about my family history and it appears my great great grandfather was Frederick C Guthrey, married to Sarah Scott Autry. It appears we are related from the way back! If you have additional info and pictures I would sure be interested in taking a look.

Did this Sarah Autry have any children in 1847 and 1849 with a Guinn…..probably not, but I am looking for a Sarah Autry. On James William Guinn’s death certificate t said Dad; Elias Guinn, Mom; Sarah Autry.
