George Washington Marable was born in Montgomery County, TN in 1881, the son of Henry H. and Caroline Edwards Marable of Jordan Springs, Montgomery County, TN. He migrated to St. Louis, Mo., where he lived for many years, died, and is buried in that city. He and his wife, Kate Marable, operated a saloon for many years close to downtown St. Louis.

Homer G. Marable was born in Montgomery County, TN, August 14, 1885. He was the son of Henry H. and Caroline Edwards Marable. He later migrated to St. Louis, Mo., along with his brother, Geroge W. Marable. Homer was married to Elizabeth Marable (nee Menz). He was a house painter. He died of Acute Cardiac Dilation/Chronic Myocarditis.

"Death Comes to John T. Marable"
VETERAN JORDAN SPRINGS MERCHANT AND MASON
TO BE BURIED SUNDAY
Although it was not unexpected, he having been critically ill several weeks of a complication of diseases, the death at 5:50 o'clock this morning of John T. Marable, 76 years of age, veteran merchant of Jordan Springs, District 4, is a distinct shock to his wide circle of friends in the county. With the exception of about three years spent in Texas, Mr. Marable had been engaged in the mercantile business at Jordan Springs. He was born near Seg, this county, on November 9, 1846. He was married in 1864 to Miss Missouri Edwards, who with one daughter, Mrs. Tandy Shelby, of Jordan Springs, survive.
Two half brothers, James and Charles Marable of Brenham, Texas, and one half sister, Mrs. Richard White of Texas also survive. Mr. Marable served a short while as deputy under the late sheriff John Staton.
Mr. Marable had been a member of the Masonic Lodge since he was 26 years of age, first being a member of the Valley Forge Lodge at Lafayette. For several years however, he had been a member of Clarksville Lodge No. 89. He was a member of Home Lodge L.O.O.F. and of the Oakwood Church of Christ. Mr. Marable had lived entirely in keeping with the teachings and obligations of his fraternal orders and church. He represented the highest type of businessman, and was a most generous and lovable character.
Services will be conducted at the home at Jordan Springs a 2 o'clock tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon by the Rev. F.W. Taylor of New Providence, and the interment* which will also be at Jordan Springs will be in charge of the Masons and Odd Fellows.

HENRY HARDING MARABLE - Date of Death August 15, 1933
H. Marable Dies in Train Crash - Funeral Services at 2:30 Friday Afternoon for Palmyra Resident
Harding H. Marable, 38, prominent farmer of the Palmyra community was killed tuesday night at 7:12 o'clock by the Louisville and Nashville northbound passenger train number 102, as he was sitting on the end of a tie between Sailor's Rest and Marable's Crossing, 17 miles south of Clarksville.
Trainmen report that he was sitting on the end of the tie adjacent to the track and evidently did not hear the approaching locomotive. Both his legs and one arm was broken, his face was cut and he suffered internal injuries. He died in route to the hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock friday afternoon in the Myers Cemetery by the Rev. S. M. Hawkins, pastor of the Palmyra Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Collier Goodlett, W.E. Crotzer, Claude Myers, Pat McFall, Robert Clay Powers, and Wylie Powers.
Mr. Marable is survived by three brothers: Hartwell of this city; S.A. of Ashland City and Repps of the Palmyra Community; and three sisters, Misses Bettie and Mabel Marable, who reside at the old family homestead near Palmyra and Mrs. Isaac Powers of Detroit, Michigan.
He was born in the Palmyra Community on July 4, 1896, the son of Dr. S.A. and Mrs. Bettie Jackson Marable, both of whom preceded him in death. He had spent his entire life in the community in which he was born. He, with his brother Repps, and two sisters, Bettie and Mabel, lived in the old homestead.
Mr. Marable was a Mason and was well liked by everyone with whom he came in contact. Many friends throughout Montgomery County grieve his untimely death.

People From All Walks of Life Pay Loving Respect
To The Memory of One They Truly Loved
Knights Templar Burial Service an Impressive Feature.
One of the largest and most impressive funerals ever witnessed in Clarksville was that of Mayor T. H. Marable, which was solemized at the family home on Greenwood Avenue at 10 o'clock this morning. The occasion, in several respects, was a remarkable one. There perhaps was never a funeral in Clarksville at which more universal and genuine grief was displayed. Men, women and children by the score broke down and shed tears, copiously shaken and bowed by an emotion entirely beyond their control. From 8 o'clock to 9:45, the body lay in state under a guard of honor from Clarksville Commandry of Knights Templar. In the meantime, it was viewed by hundreds of people from all walks of life. It afforded eloquent and incontestable proof that Dr. Marable occupied a large place in the affections of hundreds of people in this community. Nor was that testimonial supplied alone by members of his own race. The fact is stated that among those who viewed the remains was a stalwart negro man. It was noted he was deeply stirred and was striving hard for self-control, while pausing for a moment besdie the bier. On leaving the building however, he broke down completely and sobbed as if his heart were breaking. The incident is mentioned simply to indicate the widespreead esteem in which Dr. Marable was held in this community and how much deplored is his death.
The Revs J.W. Cherry and R. (unreadable) ...service at the home , the remains being transferred from the High School auditorium a few minutes prior to the funeral service.
Dr. Marable for years had been prominently identified with the Masonic fraternity. He had filled all the chairs of the Blue Lodge, Chapter....very fitting that his Commandry should have been present in a body at his obsequies. The Knights drawn up in double line, stood at ease during the service within the home. A great number of people thronged the yard and the street, standing reverently with bowed heads throughout the service. It would have required the large auditorium at the High School to accommodate all those who attended these obsequies. There were over one hundred automobiles in line of procession to the cemetery.
Knights Templar in Charge
At Greenwood, the burial service for Knights Templar was carried out, in which eminent Commander, A.C. Morgan and the Grand Prelate of Tennessee, R. de Ovies, officiated. This service, witnessed by hundreds, was exceedingly impressive. A portion of these solemn rites were these words spoken by the Eminent Commander: "A burning taper of life in our Commandry has been extinguished, and none save the High and Holy One can re-light it. All that remains of our beloved companion lies mute before us, and the light of the eye, and the breathing of the lips, in their language of fraternal greeting, has ceased for us forever on this side of the grave. His sword, vowed only to be drawn in the cause of truth, justice, and rational liberty, reposes still in its scabbord and our arms can no more shield him from wrong and oppression. It is meet, at such time, that we should be silent, and let the words of the Infinite and Undying speak, that we may gather consolation from his revelations, and impress upon our minds lessons of wisdom and instruction, the meeting of preparation for the last great change which must pass upon us all."
Upon the conclusion of the impressive service a selected choir sang several touching hymns. Upon the new made mound, loving friends deposited great masses of the most beautiful flowers in such quantities as to completely conceal all visible evidence that beneath lay the mortal remains of as good and as true a man as ever graced the walks of life. Peace to his memory.
From 10 till 12 o'clock this morning, all business was suspended downtown in order that the proprietors and clerks could pay proper respect to the departed Mayor.

Dr. Thomas Howard Marable was Mayor of Clarksville as well as President of the Board of Education. He was a medical Doctor as well. He was the son of Dr. John Hartwell Marable, II, and Eveline Helen Huthison Smith Marable. He was born at Rosehill, Montgomery County, TN on Dec. 3, 1855. Dr. Marable lived at 420 Greenwood Avenue in Clarksville. He married Lena Lane of Memphis/Shelby County, TN on Dec 3, 1884. They had 3 children: Thomas Howard Marable, Jr. who died May 14, 1951, Houston Lane Marable, who died Jan 28, 1963 and Dudley S. Marable Greathouse of Laurel, MS, who died Jun 22, 1965.

MARABLE YOUTH DIES OF POLIO
RITES WEDNESDAY
Following a six-day illness of polio, Lacy Gilmer Marable, 11 years old, died at 3:15 o'clock monday afternoon at Jennie Stuart Hospital, Hopkinsville.
The youth was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Marable, 718 South Second Street, Clarksville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at McReynolds Chapel. Elder M.K. Pullias of Murfreesboro will officiate and burial will be in the Key Cemetery on Rossview Road. Pallbearers will be Charles Key, Amos Carter, Julian Carter, Jim Pahl, Charles Choppedge and Winfield Chester.
The youth, who was a fifth grade student at Greenwood School last year, was born March 22, 1938, son of Pete G. and Lucille Key Marable. He leaves his parents; three brothers, Robert Marable of Collinsville, ILL; Ray and Joe Marable, Clarksville, and two sisters, Dorothy of Clarksville and Mrs. Clement Kroczymaski, Irvington, N.J.
The youth's death was the second Montgomery County deth from polio this year.

of Only Two Days - A Great Shock to Friends
Mrs. T.H. Marable, widow of Dr. T.H. Marable, died at her home on Greenwood Avenue on tuesday night, after an illness of only two days. Her death was very unexpected to her large circle of friends, to whom the announcement came as a great shock.
She was a daughter of Fletcher and Mary E. Lane and was born and reared in Memphis. She had made..........(Unreadable) girlhood. On December 3, 1884, she was married to Dr. T.H. Marable. Surviving are three children, Thomas Howard, Houston Lane and Miss Dudley Marable.
Prayers will be conducted at the home tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in Greenwood. The following friends will serve as pallbearers: Honorary: Dr. F.J. Runyon, Dr. R. B. Missouri Anne Marable Wife of John Travis Marable
"Death Takes Mrs. J. T. Marable"
Following an illness of only 3 days duration, Mrs. Marable died of influenza as a result of heart disease at age 78. She was the widow of J.T. Marable. She died at 6:20 o'clock, saturday at the home of of her daughter, Mrs.T.J. Shelby of Jordan Springs, 4th District, Clarksville, TN. Mrs. Marable's granddaughter, Mrs. James Jennings Reyonlds and the Rev. Mr. Reynolds were summoned from their home in Glasgow, Kentucky. Mrs. Marable's great grandson was master Joe Melvin Reynolds. Her sisters were: Mrs. M.E. Page, Mrs. Henry H. Marable. Her brothers were Will, Andrew, and J.D. Edwards. Mrs. Marable was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. For a short time she lived in Texas. Her husband John Travis Marable died December 16, 1922 and was a merchant. (Transcribed from the Clarksville Star Newspaper, February 9, 1926). Missouri Anne Marable is interred in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Montgomery Clounty, TN next to her husband, John Travis Marable. She was the daughter of William Edwards of TN and Mary Shephard. She was born Sept. 4, 1848 in Montgomery County, TN. Her death certificate states that she died of "angina pectoris". She lived at Woodlawn, TN, RFD #1.

He Succumbs to Pneumonia
After An Illness of Two Weeks
Paul D. Marable, brother of Mayor T. H. Marable, died sunday morning at 3 o'clock, at the home of his mother, on Madison Street. His death was due to pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks.
Mr. Marable was formerly Deputy Sheriff of this county and had lived the greater portion of his life in this city. He was thirty-eight years old, and unmarried.
A brief religious service was conducted at the residence by Rev. W. J. Collier this morning, after which, attended by friends and relatives, the remains were carried to Corbandale for interment in the Marable family burial plot. The services there were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Patterson.
The pallbearers were: P.L. Harned, Michael Savage, A.L. Peay, Jesse Pickering, M.M. Hussey and S.W. Kelley and Nat Dye.
Many beautiful flowers were sent by sympathetic friends.

Paul D. Marable Dies
In Chicago Hospital
Was Illinois Central Chief Tariff Clerk
Paul Douglas Marable, descendant of a family prominent in the history of Tennessee since pioneer days and Chief Tariff Clerk with the Illinois Central Railroad, who made his home for many years in Memphis, died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday morning in a Chicago hospital. He had been ill for the past nine months.
Born in 1879 in Clarksville, Tennessee, Mr. Marable attended a private school conducted by Professor John Qualls in his home city, the Webb School at Bell Buckle and Southwestern at Clarksville. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Joining the 4th Tennessee volunteers at the outbreak of the Spanish-American War, he served in Cuba. After the war, he went with the United States Enginering Corps, surveying the Indian territory which is now Oklahoma. He also surveyed the right-of-way for the Missouri Pacific Railroad to the West coast. He came to Memphis in 1912, where he was connected with the traffic department of the Illinois Central. While here, he was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral. He had lived in Chicago for the past six years.
The son of the late Dr. John Hartwell Marable and Louise Gholson Marable, he was descended from a family whose name appears with those of other leaders in the history of tennessee. His grandfather John, served as a Representative of the Nashville District in the U.S. Congress during the term of Andrew Jackson and when Sam Houston was Governor of the State.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Charles W. Phillips of Memphis, wife of a member of the editorial staff of the Commercial Appeal; a daughter and son, Susan Lillard Marable and Louis H. Marable of Chicago, and a brother, Dr. John Hartwell Marable of Cowan, Tennessee. The funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the J. T. Hinton and Son Funeral Home. Dean Noe will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

The above obit stated that his father, John Hartwell Marable was a Doctor, but he was instead the Chief Surveyor of the City of Clarksville, TN. His relatives John Hartwell Marable, I, II, and IV were Doctors but not his father, John Hartwell Marable, III. Paul Douglas Marable died of lung cancer. He is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN in Section D, Block E, Lot 10, Space 2. He had previously been married to Bessie Moore Marable who is interred in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, TN. He was born Feb 26, 1879 in Montgomery County, TN.

POLE MARABLE DATE OF DEATH, AUGUST, 1892
NEGRO SLAVE OF DR. JOHN HARTWELL MARABLE, I
On one of the trips to Washington, Dr. John Hartwell Marable, I, won a slave boy named "Pole" in a card game. He sent him to "Escape", Dr. John's home in Montgomery County, Tennessee, riding behind an older slave on a horse. They told the story that on the way back, a pack of wolves got after them. The older slave tried to push Pole off to the wolves, but he held on so tightly that he could not be thrown off. When Dr. John Hartwell Marable, I, returned from Washington and heard the story, he vowed that Pole would always be a "houseboy" and never a field hand or suffer for anything. At his death, Dr. John left Pole to Dr. John Hartwell Marable, II, with that admonition. Dr. John Hartwell Marable, II, looked after Pole until he was killed by a train after he was old, deaf, and nearly blind. KILLED BY A TRAIN
Pole Marable, colored, was killed by the south bound passenger train at Marable's Crossing below here saturday morning. He was seen on the side of the track by the engineer of the train who took him for the track walker and did not discover his mistake until it was too late. The man was horribly butchered, his neck being broken, his right leg cut off, and one of his shoulders torn all to pieces. He was an aged negro and was an old servant of the Marable family.

August 15, 1896 - Joe Marable, colored, aged 82 years, the old body servant of the late Dr. John H. Marable, died at Palmyra yesterday. "Uncle Joe" was highly thought of by his friends, white or black. He was faithful, so far as in him lay, to every trust resposed in him. His former master was the grandfather of Dr. T.H. Marable.

SARAH VIRGINIA MARABLE WHITE DATE OF DEATH - DECEMBER 3, 1931
A protracted illness of complications proved fatal at 1:30 a.m. today for Mrs. Jennie Marable White, 73, death occurring at the home in the Kenwood Community of her son, Daniel White. Mrs. White had been ill two years and for some time her condition was critical.
Services in memory of Mrs. White will be conducted from Tarpley's Funeral Home in this city at 4 p.m. friday by the Rev. E.H. Greenwell, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, and burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. J.D. Oldham, Taylor Settles, Robert Harper, John Harper, A. R. Earls and Fred Blake will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. White was practically a life-long resident of the county. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marable and was born in the Blooming Grove community. Her husband, J.D. White, died in 1922 and since that time she has resided with her son and daughters.
She is survived by two daughters and four sons: Mrs. Mollie Clark, Hopkinsville, Mrs. R.F. Parker, Detroit, Charles White, Evansville, Indiana, Daniel White, Kenwood, and Jack and Joe White of Clarksville. Mrs. White held membership in the Methodist Church and was much loved in a wide circle of friends.

THOMAS OGBURN MARABLE DATE OF DEATH - MARCH 3, 1919
ENID, OKLAHOMA
Thomas O. Marable, age seventy years, died at his home, one and a half miles northeast of Enid at twelve o'clock monday evening. The funeral was held from the residence at 2:30 tuesday afternoon with Rev. A.G. Smith, officiating. The interment was in the Enid Cemetery.

His father was Dr. James Alexander Marable and his mother was Mary Eliza Ogburn, all of Montgomery county, TN. Thomas died of cancer of the neck. He is buried in the Enid Cemetery in Enid, OKlahoma next to his son, Estlar Marable, but he has no marker. He married Sarah Elizabeth Layne May 17, 1874.

Will Howard Marable died monday at 5 o'clock p.m. at the home of his father, Dr. S.A. Marable, near Corbandale, with pneumonia of nine days duration. He was just 23 years old and had developed wonderful business capacity and was very popular with all who knew him, both old and young.

Repps Corban Marable, 92, 2141 Pace Drive, died friday, July 23, 1993, at Clarksville Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. sunday at Sykes Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on sunday, from noon until the hour of service.
He was born Aug. 13, 1900, in Montgomery County, a son of Dr. Samuel A. Marable and Elizabeth Jackson Marable. He was a retired bookkeeper for the Tennessee Department of Transportation Maintenance. He was a methodist and a life member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Gunn Marable, Clarksville: a daughter, Betty Lou Stone, Chattanooga; a sister, Annis Marable Powers, Farmington, Mich.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Marable, John Hartwell Marable, James Balthrop, Gray Marable, Corban Stone, Robert Stone, John Garrett and Rollin Turner.

THOMAS HOWARD MARABLE, JR. DATE OF DEATH - MAY 14, 1951
CLARKSVILLE, TN
Thomas H. Marable, Jr. 66, died unexpectedly in Clarksville Hospital at 9 o'clock this morning. He had been in impaired health for six months, but became critically ill a short while before being conveyed to the hospital. He resided at 617 Madison Street.
Funeral Arrangements are incomplete and are in charge of McReynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Marable was born December 11, 1885, son of the late Dr. Thomas H. Marable and Lena Lane Marable. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora B. Marable to whom he was married September 6, 1930; a sister, Mrs. Hugh Greathouse, Laurel, Mississippi, and a brother, Lane Marable of this city.
Mr. Marable was graduated from former Southwestern Presbyterian University, and early in life, was connected with F. P. Gracey Company, and then the W.A. Chambers Company. He later moved to Paris but returned to Clarksville and was with the Ft.Campbell post office until he retired six months ago because of impaired health. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Bessie Marable, 89, died sunday in Montgomery County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Miss Betty Marable died at 10 a.m., friday night at the residence of her brother, J. H. Marable at 320 Castle Heights. She was a resident of Palmyra, TN and a retired schoolteacher.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at McReynolds Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Mark Williams and the Rev. Clyde Brake officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Dr. S. A. and Elizabeth Jackson Marable.
In addition to her brother, she is survived by two other brothers; R.C. Marable, Palmyra, and George Sam Marable, Ashland City; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Baggett, Clarksville, and Mrs. Annis Powers, Detroit.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, Palmyra Chapter of the Eastern Star, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Senior Citizens and Palmyra Home Demonstration Club.
Pallbearers will be John and Sam Marable, Sam Balthrop, Donald Corbin, Robert Daniel Stone, and Gene and Kermit Jackson.

CAROLINE EDWARDS MARABLE DATE OF DEATH - MARCH 21, 1927
MRS. MARABLE, 72, DIES IN NASHVILLE
The death, in Nashville Sunday night of Mrs. Caroline Edwards Marable, aged 72, a lifelong resident of the Jordan Springs community, has occasioned widespread sorrow throughout this section. Death was at the home of her son, Charles Marable, where she had been critically ill the past three or more weeks. Definite funeral arrangements had not been made today. The body, being brought by motor, will arrive here at 5 o'clock this afternoon and will be taken to the Tarpley Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow by the Rev. H.W. Wyre, of the local Church of Christ. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery or at Jordan Springs, the place having not been definitely selected this afternoon.
Mrs. Marable was a daughter of the late W.M. and Mrs. Mary Edwards, and was the widow of Henry Marable whose death occurred fourteen years ago. Although she had maintained a home at Jordan Springs since the death of her husband, Mrs. Marable had spent a greater portion of her time visiting in the homes of her children, and had acquired many friends in the sections in which they lived. Mrs. Marable was a devout Christian, a member of the Church of Christ at Oakwood, which she had faithfully served from childhood. She was greatly admired and loved by all who knew her, splendid traits having endeared her to all who had the privilege of her acquaintance.
Surviving Mrs. Marable are seven children: George and Homer Marable of St. Louis, Charles Marable, Nashville, Mrs. M.N. Munn, Clarksville, Mesdames Helen and Mary Ingram and Mrs. Frank Allen, all of Jordan Springs, three brothers, Will Edwards, Wylie, Texas, Andrew Edwards, Dennison, Texas, and Jeff Edwards, Oakwood. Mrs. Marable was a sister of Mrs. M.N. Page, whose death occurred in this city, December 11, 1926.

TRIBUTE PAID TO MRS. MARABLE
Pointing out that her life was a legacy example left behind for her loved ones, the Rev. H.W. Wyre, Pastor of the Church of Christ, touched upon the characteristics of Mrs. Caroline Edwards Marable in funeral services conducted this afternoon. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Many floral offerings attested the love in which Mrs. Marable was held.
Reading from Psalm 23 and other Scripture reference, Mr. Wyne said that in Mrs. Marable's death two had been made happy, she who died and HE who had given her life. "The Great I AM What I Am" she had surrounded herself with friends, he said, making hundreds in the communities in which she visited. In comforting members of her family, the minister said this earth is but a revolving graveyard, but the Christian enters into a realm where there is no death. He said the body was not Mrs. Marable, but instead it was her servant which she had used while here. He said the body, having served its purpose, was discarded for a celestial body. The Rev. Frank P. Taylor, Pastor of the New Providence Church led the prayer. A mixed choir sang "(illegible.....Only a Dream, "In The Sweet By and By" and "Meet me There".

Ryllis Green Marable, 83, 631 Madison St., died today at Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Montgomery County on March 4, 1898, Mrs. Marable was the daughter of the late William H. Green and Ethel Hurst Green. She was the wife of the late Lane Marable.
She is survived by a son, Dr. William G. Lyle; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be John Rubel, Nevin McKinnon, Collier Goodlett, John Edwards, John Peay, Austin Peay IV, Vernon Earp and Arthur Marks.

He is survived by one daughter, Dianne Rittenberry of Clarksville; one sister, Pearl Trafford of Oscoda, Michigan, and two grandchildren.

District 4 Resident, Victim of Heart Disease Friday Night
The death at 8 o'clock friday night of John cole Moss, prominent District 4 farmer, followed a three year period of failing health and a three weeks critical illness. Heart disease, superinduced by complications was the immediate cause of death.
Services in memory of Mr. Moss will be conducted at his home at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow, sunday, afternoon aby the Rev. B.H. Brandon of the Woodlawn Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Moss Cemetery.
Mr. Moss was a native of District 3 of Montgomery County. His father and mother, who, was before her marriage, Miss Amanda Cole, were natives of Virginia. Mr. Moss was a lifelong resident of this county and due to his charitable and sociable disposition, leaves a wide circle of friends throughout the city and county. His immediate survivors include R.D. Moss, a brother, three sisters: Mrs. Lulu Senseney, Mrs. Alma Dodd and Mrs. Daniel Moss and one daughter, Mrs. S.S. Morris of christian County, KY.

WILLIAM DANIEL MOSS DATE OF DEATH - MARCH 31, 1890
W.D. Moss, was born in Warren County, N.C., September 16, 1822; immigrated to Montgomery County, TN., in 1849, where he resided until 1860. He then moved to Christian County, KY., where he died March 31st, 1890, aged 67 years, 6 months and 15 days.
Broddie Moss was a noble, kind-hearted, generous and most hospitable man. A kind husband, a devoted father and grandfather. He was social and cheerful by nature, always spreading sunshine wherever he went.
He was the social life of every group of friends he met, but never seemed so happy as when he had his friends, his children and grandchildren gathered around his cheerful home, enjoying his bountiful hospitality.
He leaves a grief-stricken wife, a sorrowing family, and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
His last illness was of several weeks duration and severer but he bore it with remarkable fortitude. Although he was not a professor of religion, he died not as one without hope, for several days before his death, he seemed almost constantly engaged in devout and earnest prayer, and only a few minutes before he breathed his last, he called his children around his bedside and bid them farewell. He expressed a perfect resignation to his fate, that he was not afraid to die; but was prepared, ready and willing to go. We feel and believe that our loss is his eternal gain.

ADDIE LEE MARABLE MUNN DATE OF DEATH - DECEMBER 12, 1964
DIED IN MEMPHIS, TN
Mrs. Addie Lee Munn, of 4147 Ward, died at 5:40 a.m. yesterday at John Gaston Hospital after a long illness. She was about 80 years old.
Born in Jordan Springs Community, now part of Fort Campbell near Clarksville, TN, she was a graduate of George Peabody Collge for Teachers in Nashville. Prior to 1927, Mrs. Munn taught typing and shorthand in Nashville. After coming to Memphis in 1927, she opened a dress shop which she operated until her retirement 20 years ago.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Clarksville.
Mrs. Munn leaves a son, Leland Munn, of the Ward address; a sister, Mrs. Helen Ingram of Clarksville; and two grandchildren.

Marvin Neal Munn, former Clarksville resident, died recently in Memphis following an operation, He was 79.
Before moving to Memphis in 1927, Mr. Munn was a merchant and insurance writer.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a Mason, and Shriner.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Leland L. Munn, and two grandchildren, all of Memphis.

The one year old son of Mr. & Mrs. M. N. Munn died this morning after a short illness. On saturday, the mother and child were on the streets and yesterday the little one seemed to be taken ill suddenly and continued to grow worse, although everything possible was done to relieve him.
