Title Explanation of mail service Description This map shows postal routes in West and Middle Tennessee and adjacent states. It indicates, by color, how often mail runs along these routes. Distances are derived from certified returns of the Postmasters & Contractors. Latitudinal and longitudinal lines are illustrated along the border. Very similar to Map 143. Historical Note This map provides a detailed look at the post offices and postal routes of Tennessee towards the end of the 19th Century.
