Nathan Lunn’s Will (1839)

State of Tennessee Marshall County, We thomas Hopper and Nathaniel A. Lunn do State that the nuncupative will of Nathan Lunn was made by him on the 28th day of August Eighteen hundred and thirty nine in our presence to which we were specially required to bear witness by the testator himself in the presence of each other that it was made in his last sickness in his own habitation or dwelling house. And the same is as follows to wit.

It was his will and desire that his effects should be disposed of after his decease in the following manner First sell a sufficient Quantity of property to discharge all his debts and then the remaining part of the property to belong to Mrs. Lunn the wife of consort of Nathan Lunn.

And the said Mrs. Mary Lunn to be made his Executor.

Made out by us this 9th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine

I A. C. LUNN feeling that I must soon die but being in my perfect mind make this as my last will & Testament ________

2ndly. that all my Just Debts be paid;

Thirdly Fifty acres of my Land lying in District 1 in Maury County & State of Tennessee Containing the Improvement I wish my mother to have during her life the other Fifty five Acres I wish my Botherinlaw R.B. White & my Brother Samuel to have and at the death of my mother I wish the other fifty acres to fall back to her Bodily heirs should my Brother Samule die without heirs I wish my Brotherinlaw R. B. WHITE & his heirs to heir his part the Remainder of my Property

I wish the said R. B. WHITE & Samuel I LUNN to dispose of & the Proceeds after paying my Debts if any should be left I wish it also disposed of equally between the said R. B. WHITE my sole Executor given under my hand & seal this 21st day of October Eigthteen Hundred fifty Two
