In the name of God amen. I John Tilman of the State of Tennessee Marshall County Being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God do this 23rd day of Marsh in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine make publish this my last will and testament in the manner following that is to say after my guneral Expences proving my will and letters testamentary and all my Just debts are paid I give and bequeath to my wife Susannah Tilman all the perishable property that I now possess during her lifetime or widowhood.

My will furthur is that anytime that she may think proper to sell any part of the perishable property bequeath to her either at private or Public sale and give it to my children and charge them with it so it might stand good against them in a division of my estate among them my will furthur is that all the property above bequeath to my wife Susannah Tilman and all the effects arising from said property at her death or marriage shall be sold and be Equally divided among all my children and I hereby make and ordain my son Jeremiah R. Tilman and Staling Carroll my Executors of this my last will and testament in withness whereof I the said John Tilman have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Tilman the testator as his last will and testament in the presents of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.
