{SEAL} THE STATE OF TENNESSEE-No.

To all to whom these presents shall come–greetings

KNOW YE, That, for and in consideration of the sum of twelve & 1/2 cents per acre, paid into the office of the Entry-Taker of Bedford county, and entered on the 7th day of May 1824 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the

General Assembly of said state, passed on the twenty second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three,

there is granted by the State of Tennessee, unto James Kidd

a certain Tract or Parcel of LAND, containing Sixty eight acres & one hundred poles by survey bearing date the 14th day of July 1824 lying in said county,

On the head waters of Rock Creek and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning on Liscomb’s South West corner. Running thence North at 5 & 1/2 degrees West twenty five & a half poles to John Orr’s line. Thirty six poles to James Kidd’s corner, thence South at the true Meredian eighty one poles to a Buckeye, the North West corner of a ten acre tract survey in the name of James Kidd, thence East with the North boundary of said survey forty poles to the North East corner, Thence South with the East boundary of the same forty poles to the South East corner, Thence West with the South boundary forty one poles to a Hickory, the South West corner. Thence North with the West boundary of the same fourteen poles to a Lynn, said Kidd’s South East corner of a fifty acre survey. Thence West with said tract twenty two poles to an Elm. Thence South fourteen poles to a black Ash on James Stevenson’s line. Thence East with his said boundary line ten poles to his North East corner. Thence South with his line five poles to an Elm on the Lincoln County line. Thence East with said line eleven poles to a Chinquapin Oak, Joshua Kelly’s corner. Thence East with his line thirty poles to a stake and two Hickories marked as pointers. Thence East with the Lincoln County line on the Elk Ridge sixty six poles to Anthony Hampton’s corner. Thence North with John Endplay’s line thirty three & 1/3 poles to two poplars. Thence West with Endsley’s line fifty eight poles to his South West corner. Thence North with his West Boundary line one hundred and eight poles to a sugartree on Liscomb’s line. Thence West with his line forty seven poles to the Beginning.

With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To HAVE and to HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of LAND, with its appurtenances, to the said James Kidd

and his heirs forever.

In Witness Whereof, WILLIAM CARROLL, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Murfreesborough, on the 10th day of November in the year of our lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty four, and of the independence of the United States, the forty eighth.
