BRAWNER, Melvina – (d. 1936)

A stomach ailment claimed the life of Mrs. Melvina Brawner at her home in Franklin, KY, on Thursday afternoon of last week. She was 53 years of age and was for many years a resident of the Beech Bottom community, being the widow of the late Tom V. Brawner. She is survived by two sons, Radford Brawner, also of Franklin; and Bethel Brawner of Beech Bottom; and four daughter, Mrs. Mittie Coker, and Mrs. Lillie Gann, both of near Lafayette; Mrs. Janie Gregory of Pleasant Shade, and Mrs. Nola Tinsley, with whom the deceased made her home.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Elder Calvin Gregory, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Nelse McDonald cemetery. Mrs. Brawner was a Miss Garrett prior to her marriage. She was a devoted member of Beech Bottom Baptist church for many years.
