Obituary: Mrs. Martha Driver Dies at Her Home

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Bandy Driver, aged 81 years, passed away at her home in the Underwood section at 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning. She had been under the care of a physician since December. Her death was attributed to infirmities incident to old age. However, she was apparently recovering and retired at an early hour Wednesday night, seemingly feeling much improved. Her sudden passing is thought to have been caused by a heart attack.

She was the last of the children of Wesley L and Margaret Binion Bandy. The last sister, Mrs. Tint Blankenship, preceding her in death about 7 months ago. She is survived by the following children: two sons, C. C. Driver of Red Boiling Springs, and Hobart Driver, living near his mother; three daughters, Mrs. Babe Fishburn of Lafayette, R. 4; Mrs. Radford Doss of the Oak Know section; and Miss Gertie Driver, who lived with her mother and cared for her in her passing years; eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive. She professed faith in Christ early in life and she, with her husband, joined the Underwood Methodist Church about 22 years ago where she remained a member until death. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. J. L. Hale of Westmoreland, her former pastor. Burial will be in Underwood.
