Bunch, Ishmael Lee
On February 4, 2020 Mr. Ishmael Lee Bunch peacefully passed at his residence surrounded by family at the age of 87. He was born to the late William and Nola (Cameron) Bunch on October 27,1932 in Lewis County. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings Reuel Bunch, Eugene Bunch, Dwight Bunch, Dora Mae Greenlee and Ruby Sue Bunch. Mr. Bunch was a member of Lomax Church of Christ in Hohenwald, TN
On June 30,1956 he married Miss JoAnn Chandler and raised two wonderful daughters over the 63 years they have been married. Mr. Bunch enlisted in the United States Navy in May of 1951 and served four years until being honorably discharged in May of 1955. Upon his return he co owned Hohenwald Tire Company, owned and operated Bunch Tire and Bunch Truck Lines for over 18 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and would often go pheasant hunting in South Dakota. He was also very active in the community, serving as a County Commissioner, Circuit Court Clerk, being a Shriners member and participating in the Masonic lodge. He is said to have been one of the most generous men you’ll ever meet, and everyone knew of him. He never met a stranger in his time here. Above all of this, there was no better place in the world than Hohenwald, TN. is what he would often say, referring to it as “God’s Country”.
Along with his wife, he leaves behind daughters LeeAnn (Tom) Alford and Michelle (Rick) Whitwell; grandchildren Lindsey (Chris) Himes, Kristen (Trai) Meadows, and Lacey (Darrin) Cameron; great grandchildren Dylan, Andalyn and Casen Himes, Harlynn Cameron, and Chandler and Ford Meadows; and siblings Johnnie Faye Skelton and Billy Bunch.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday February 6, 2020 at the Adair funeral home chapel from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Services will be held Friday February 7, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M at Lomax Church of Christ in Hohenwald with brother Donnie DeBord officiating.
