Baker, C. R.
Mr. C.R. Baker, of Hohenwald, passed from this life on to his eternal one on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at the age of 88.
He was born in Gordonsburg, TN on July 22, 1932, to Chancy R. Baker, Sr. “Cap” and Lucille Loveless Baker. He grew up and married the love of his life and his best friend, Peggye Loveless, on November 29, 1958. They lived a wonderful life together until her passing in 2011. C.R. was a proud and dedicated member of the American Legion here in Lewis County. He loved his church family and worshiped with them at the Kimmins Church of Christ for many years. He helped extensively with the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund. If you were around him, you knew his love of Ford, Alabama Football, Nascar, and most of all-Cowboy Boots.
He is survived by his children, John (Janie) Baker, Jenny (Kenneth) Carroll, and Wesley (Amy) Carroll. Grandsons, Stephen Carroll and Tommy Baker. Brother, Fada Clay, Sister, Faye Holt, Sister-In-Law, Polly Edwards, and three great-grandchildren, Aleah, Ian, and Brooklyn Carroll.
Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Sam, Jack, Charlie, William, and Joe Baker, and sister Martha Baker.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 24,2020 at 5:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. John Baker and Johnny Clayton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Loveless Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
