GARNER Seeking info on Samuel Reed Garner, b. abt 1812 in Maury or Lewis Co., TN. His parents, Lewis Garner, moved to FL by 1822, and then AL and MS. Samuel was the family head in an 1850 MS census that has 2 kids born in AL and 4 in MS.

MANNERRING BROOKSHIRE d. 1925 in Sebastian Co., AR. MANNERRING and ELIZABETH BROOKSHIRE had two dau ghter, M. E. and M. A. I think their names were MARGARET and MARY. TUCKER, SMITH I am searching for information on JAMES TUCKER who married my greatgrand mother IDA SMITH. 22 DEC. 1914 in LEWIS CO. I don’t have any other reference to him except the 1910 Census in Wayne Co. IDA and JAM ES came to Bolivar Co. Ms. in 1927 when my grandfather Elmer Smith came. I have Richard Smith born @ 1821.I am also researching Mariah Jane Garner wife of Josiah H. Smith. SIMS I am looking for ancestors or decendants of Jesse SIMS. He was born about 1796 in Lewis CO. TN. He married Jemima HUTCHISON and had at least sevenchildren. DEVER, BIFFLE, AKIN Seeking information on Mary DEVER b after 1760 d 1831, married Jacob BIFFLE and had dtr Mildred “Millie” b 1795 NC, who married Samuel Watson AKIN. PEGRAM Baker Pegram from Warren Co., NC was in Lewis Co., TN in 1850. The 1850 Lewis Co. census looks like this: Baker 35, Eliza B. 28, Elizabeth 11, Clarissa A. 8, Mary E. 6, Amelia R. 5, Lelia J. 3, and James R. 1. I would love to have any data on any of these family members. LEWIS, GARDNER We are back tracking the Chickasaw/Chocktaw roots of the lewis family. We have the marital community of Loren Lewis and Sue Gardner-Lewis living in Oklahoma. HANKINS, ROACH, DANIEL, BESHIRES, BOSHERS I have a very old picture, that was given to me by my grandfather William Marse BESHIRES’s sister. This picture is of my great grandmother & father, Lu cinda DANIEL & Christopher Columbus “Lum” BESHIRES, sometimes spelled BESHIERS, BOSHERS, or BRASHERS. In this picture, my grandmother is wearing a Native Amer. dress and her hair is in 2 braids. She also has a bead necklace on. I am at a lose as to which nation she belongs. Her mother was Nancy “Nann” HANKINS and father James William DANIEL. He was from Madison Co. I think that she got her Native Amer. heritage, through her mother, as tradition dictates. I also have a picture of Lucinda’s sister,Alice HEN SON, in a dress that appears to be of Native Amer. in nature. Is there anyone who can help me with this, by looking at the style of these dresses? I can send pictures via e-mail. Lum and Lucinda were married in Hardeman Co. on 4-11-1891 d!!. Chester Co. L um’s parents lived in Hardin Co., at ShilohPark, in the peach orchard cabin, 1862. DUGAN
I am looking for information on a Charles Dugan born
around 1920 in Lewis Co. His father was Elvis Glenn Dugan. I don’t know if
Charles parents divorced or if his mother died, but Elvis remarried a Lillian
Stringer and moved to either Ohio or Maryland. H is other child was born in

ARNOLD, PARNELL I am seeking information on Joe and Fannie Parnell Arnold, who were buried in Riverside Cemetery, Lewis County, Tennessee. AUSTIN Seek information on Charles and Silvia AUSTIN who resided in Lewis Co. Charles and Silvia (nee WORKMAN) married 21 Jan 1812 in Orange Co, NC, and were in Lewis Co by at least 1850 when they were enumerated on the census with sons James and Carley. LAY
SILAS LAY married to ELIZABETH SMITH or BROWN. They
had one son WILLIAM ROBERT LAY born abt. 1855 in TENESSEE. Silas died when the
son was under 5 years old his mother remarried than she died. The step father
remarried and the step parents treated Willian Robert very bad. They sent him to
live with the slaves in the slave quarters and gave him chores as if he was a
slave. When he was still very young he was caught making knives with the slaves
and sent to prison, on the way there he escaped and went to Mississippi and
worked on the River Boats, later he went to Texas and joined the Texas Rangers
than in 1880 he show ed up in Utah and married Emily Kenner. They had 10
children. Any information about Silas and Elizabeth would be very much
appreicated.
