McDonald, Maeve Grace
Maeve Grace McDonald, 7 months old, was born on August 24, 2025, in Columbia, and passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 in Memphis, TN at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, listening to her favorite lullaby; surrounded by those that loved her most.
Maeve, small but mighty, showed much determination during her 3 month battle with cancer. Her soul was fierce & her heart was brave. Maeve’s life was a symbol of love, hope, and courage. Though her time here was brief, her impact will be lasting-woven into the hearts of all who followed her story, lifted her in prayer, and were forever changed by her strength. Her legacy will continue to inspire kindness, deepen faith, and remind us to cherish every moment.
Maeve had a smile &a light that shined so brightly. Her eyes, carried love & strength. She was her daddy’s twin, her mama’s best friend; her brother’s “sister”. She was known as Maevey-baby, sister girl, sugar bear.
Maeve is survived by her parents – R.E. & Hanna, her brother, Everette, her grandparents, Jim Sheila Henderson and Nancy McDonald, her great-grandparents, Kay Henderson, Peggy LeCroy, Charles Greene. Her uncles & aunts, Russ (Hannah) Henderson, Rodney (Mallory) McDonald, & Wayne (Brandie) McDonald. She is proceeded in death by her grandfather, Rodger McDonald, and great-grandparents.
Funeral services were held on Palm Sunday, March 29th at 4 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church in Lexington with burial in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation was at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 28 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and at the First Pentecostal Church on Sunday from 2 p.m. until service. The family asked that everyone wear bright/spring colors or their Maeve shirts to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be given in memory of Maeve to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in support of their mission- “finding cures. saving children” in honor of the doctors, nurses, caregivers whose calling is a gift to this world (stjude.org) or the Miracle Maeve Ministry Fund (First Bank, 101 West Church St. Lexington, TN.
