Hand, Charles Dee Lyndel
Charles Dee Lyndel Hand Jr., known affectionately by friends and family as Bob, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 71. Born on December 4, 1954, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Bob was a man whose kind and loving nature touched the hearts of everyone he met.
Bob was the treasured son of the late Charles Hand Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Gentry Hand. His life was one of devotion: to his family, his work, and his passions. For 25 years, he shared a loving partnership with his significant other, Fannie Cotham, and together they cultivated a life full of joy and cherished moments. Bob was a proud father to sons Charlie (Lisa) Hand III and Jeremy (Michelle) Hand, and a doting grandfather to Dustin Hand and Marissa Hand. Although his grandson Cody Hand preceded him in death, Bob’s memory continues through his loving family, including his siblings Willie Gentry and Sue Gammons.
Bob’s life was further enriched by his children of the heart, Marie Sanders, Sara Cotham, and the late Vivian Walls. His generous spirit extended to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren of the heart, each of whom he adored.
Bob owned and operated his own produce business. His work was not just a means to an end; it was a reflection of his commitment to service and community. Outside of work, Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and pleasure in fishing, where the quiet of nature was a calming relief to everyday life. His hobbies also included coin collecting and the pursuit of vintage glass, both of which demonstrated his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Bob was a familiar face at flea markets and auctions, always on the lookout for treasures and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
