Scandrett, Patricia H
Patricia Hope Scandrett, 83, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1942, in New Hampshire to the late Forest Belknap and Delia LaCounte Belknap.
Patricia was the devoted wife of the late Alexander Marshall Scandrett, whom she married on March 15, 1964. Together, they shared 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2023. A dedicated homemaker, Patricia poured her life into raising their six children, a role she cherished deeply.
One of her fondest memories—and a story she loved to share—was from 1959, when she proudly represented the state of Vermont at the International Girl Scout–Girl Guide Roundup in Boulder, Colorado. It was the only Roundup ever held, and she often recalled the awe of being greeted by a flyover from the United States Air Force. She traveled by train to attend, taking great pride in the honor of representing the state of Vermont. Through her involvement in scouting and the friendships she formed, she was ultimately introduced to the man who would become her husband—they met while playing a game of ping pong.
Patricia is survived by her children: Alexander Scandrett Jr. of Middletown, NY; Elisabeth Scandrett of Hohenwald, TN; Deborah (John) Holder of Amelia, VA; Jennifer Das of Paris, NY; and Patricia (Steve) Maniscalo of Cobleskill, NY. She is also survived by her brother, Lawrence Belknap; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lauren Scandrett, and her brother, James Belknap.
