Carroll, Larry
Larry Carroll, a man of loving spirit and adventurous heart, passed away on August 22, 2025, in Columbia, TN, at the age of 76. Born on November 25, 1948, in Wyandotte, MI, to Frank and Charlene Hinson Carroll, Larry’s life was rich with the love of family, the joy of the outdoors, and the satisfaction that comes with a hard day’s work.
Beyond his work, Larry was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. An avid fisherman, he could often be found at the break of dawn, rod in hand, waiting for the first catch of the day. His love for gardening was evident in the vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables that adorned his home. And when it came to cooking, Larry’s kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, where recipes were shared and memories made.
Larry’s kindness and warm demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community. He was the kind of person who greeted everyone with a smile and was always prepared to go on a new adventure, whether it was a spontaneous road trip or trying out a new fishing spot.
Family was the cornerstone of Larry’s life. He was a devoted husband to his wife since 2014, Patricia Carroll, and a loving father to his daughter, Kellie Michelle Carroll, and his “buddy” and Kellie’s fiancé Greg Moore. His role as a grandfather to Kelsie Carroll (Dyersburg, TN), Step grandfather to Autumn Nelson and eight other grandchildren, and many nephews was one he embraced with joy and pride. He was a cherished brother to Clyde Carroll, Michael Lee “Mack” Carroll, Thomas Carroll, Diane Reeves, and Eileen Ragsdale. Larry was a proud stepfather to Natalie (Brandon) Blake and Damien Holloway. Though predeceased by his half-sister Barbara Ann Whitworth and siblings Harold Carroll and Ann Carroll, the memories they shared brought him comfort and joy.
Visitation with family and friends was in the Chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 10:00 until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Casey Jones officiated the service.
