Betts, Michael Raymond
Michael Raymond Betts, a cherished family man, respected army veteran, and beloved member of the Hohenwald community, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on March 13, 1954, in Omer, Michigan, to Regina “Jean” Betts and the late Raymond Betts, Michael’s life was full of unwavering spirit and enduring kindness.
Michael’s journey took him from the quaint town of his birth to the warm embrace of Hohenwald, where he established his home and heart. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Marie Schulte Betts, and a loving father to his children, Corey Betts (Kelly), Christopher Zibble, Sabrina Zibble, Danielle Thomas (Billy), and Nicole Zibble. His role as a grandfather was one, he cherished deeply, finding joy and pride in the lives of his grandchildren: JC Betts, Riley Betts, Abri Zibble, Damon Zibble, Alyssa Grady, Abigail Rehming, Amelia Rehming, Elijah Gibson, Lillian Thomas, Sophia Thomas, Harper Thomas, Ella Thomas, and Emily McClain.
Michael’s commitment to service was evident through his dedicated military career, serving three active years in the army, followed by twenty years in the reserves. His patriotism and valor were matched only by his compassion and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Beyond his service, Michael had a penchant for the simple pleasures in life. He relished the moments spent over coffee and conversation with his uncle Steve, sharing stories and laughter. His love for his grandbabies was boundless, as was his passion for westerns and country music.
Visitation was held in the Chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 12:00 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Brother Joshua Adair officiated the celebration of Michael’s life.
