Lee, Robert James Sr
Robert James Lee Sr., a family man and friend to all, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 80 in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on August 3, 1944, in Jamestown, New York, to the late James Lloyd and Loraine Lee, Robert’s life was full of love, kindness, and generosity.
Robert’s early years in Jamestown were filled with the laughter of a large and loving family. He was the cherished brother of Charlotte Lasko, Clark Lee, Albert Lee, and Link Lee. Throughout his life, Robert’s siblings knew they could always count on him for support, a listening ear, or a helping hand.
After the loss of his dear son, Robert Lee Jr., and his beloved grandson AJ, Robert’s strength and compassion became a cornerstone for his family. He was a guiding light to his surviving children, Sandy and Allen Herrington, Rebecca Lee (Brian Napier), and James Lee. Robert’s legacy continued to grow through his adored grandchildren, including Heather Woodward and 19 other grandchildren, as well as his 26 great-grandchildren. His influence extended to a host of nieces and nephews who fondly remember his unfailing presence in their lives.
Robert’s interests were simple yet profound. He found joy in taking rides anywhere, savoring the world around him with a cup of coffee in hand. His open-hearted nature meant he never met a stranger, and his generosity knew no bounds. If someone needed help, Robert would give the shirt off his back without a second thought. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, creating a treasured trove of memories that will be held dear for generations to come.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services. The celebration of life will begin at 5:00 pm.
