Hester, Jamie
Jamie Hester, 44, of Lobelville, beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 18, 2025. He was born in Dickson, Tn., the oldest of two sons, to Steve and Martha Caldwell Hester.
During his teenage years he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Lobelville First Baptist Church, where he would remain a member for the majority of his life.
Jamie grew up in Lobelville and was a 1998 graduate of Perry County High School. After high school he attended classes at Nashville State and then at Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Dickson, where he earned his certification in computer technologies. After graduation he began a career with Local Government Corporation in Columbia, Tennessee. During his almost 23 years with LGC, he would end up visiting every county in the state and even a few across state lines, installing and servicing various computers and tech systems. He loved his job and took great pride in his work and in serving his customers, where he would form many enduring friendships.
In 2003 he met his future wife, Amy, who recognized almost immediately that she had never met a more incredible man, and in 2005 they were wed. After several years of tearful prayers, they were overjoyed to welcome their son Maddox in 2011 and in 2014, their sweet Hannah Jane completed their family. Jamie was an incredible husband and father, and he took great joy in watching Maddox and Hannah grow and especially as they began to join their father in a few of his favorite things: Alabama football “Roll Tide!!”, Nashville Predators hockey, Marvel superheroes and gaming. No matter what his children wanted to try, you could find him right beside them or just behind them, supporting and encouraging them in any way he could. He wan an unwavering source of strength and tenderness for his wife, holding her close and holding her up, through several storms and every season of their lives together.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents WD and Betty Hester, Mathis L and Evie Mae Caldwell and step-grandmother Alice Elnora Caldwell, Aunt Betty Jo Caldwell Satterfield, and Aunt Millie Caldwell Forster and her husband, Uncle Weldon Forster.
