Betty Lou Glenn, a cherished woman whose life was characterized by her loving nature, kindness, and passion for life, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Born on October 26, 1935, in Obion, Tennessee, Betty’s journey was one of warmth, dedication, and joy, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Betty was the daughter of the late Noah and Nellie Wright Shanes and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin Glenn. She was a devoted mother to her children, Randy Glenn (Mindy) and Donna Hensley (Donnie), and a loving sister to her siblings, Jeanelle Thrower and Earl Shanes. Her memory continues through her grandchildren, Danae Holt (Dustin) and Dillon Hensley, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Macy Gardner, Annalyn Holt, and Levi Holt, all of whom she loved deeply.

Betty dedicated some of  her time and talents to Hohenwald Flowers, where she was always ready to lend a hand with anything that needed to be done. Her work ethic and willingness to help others were traits that resonated with everyone she met.

Betty’s interests were a reflection of who she was – a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, finding joy in the quiet moments spent with a good book or a challenging puzzle. Her love for plants was evident in her beautiful garden. Above all, family was the cornerstone of Betty’s life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Betty’s faithful companion, her dog Lucy, was by her side through many of life’s chapters, providing comfort and happiness.

Known for her compassionate heart and unwavering kindness, Betty left an indelible mark on her community and the lives of those she touched. Her passion for life was contagious, and her presence brought light and love to every room she entered.

Visitation for Betty Lou Glenn will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. The service will be a celebration of Betty’s life, with Brother Jamie English officiating. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery & Mausoleum in Nashville, TN.
