Holland, Joyce Kyle
Joyce Holland, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Lobelville, TN. Born on January 1, 1943, in Shelbyville, TN, Joyce’s life was a path of power, kindness, humor, and unwavering affection.
The daughter of the late Johnnie and Lula Kyle, Joyce grew up in a bustling household alongside her siblings Shirley, Larry, A.D., Jessie, and her predeceased brothers Thomas and Leonard. Her formative years in Shelbyville were filled with love, laughter, and the close-knit bond of family that she would carry with her throughout her life. Joyce’s heart found its match in Michael Holland, with whom she built a beautiful life until his passing.
Ms. Joyce leaves behind to carry on her memory her cherished children Larry (Angie) White, John (Shelley) Blakenship, Lonnie Blakenship, and Sandra Dee (Derek) Blakenship White-Mueller. Joyce’s role as a mother was one she treasured deeply, pouring everything she had into every moment with her children.
Those who knew Joyce will fondly remember her for her exceptional talents in quilting and crocheting, hobbies that she dedicated countless hours to perfecting. Not only were these crafts a source of personal joy, but they also became symbols of her love as she created countless blankets for her grandchildren, each stitch a testament to her affection. Her legacy is carried on not just in memory, but in the lives of her 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Each of them has been touched by Joyce’s loving spirit, her sense of humor, and the lessons of compassion she imparted.
An avid fisherwoman, Joyce possessed the uncanny ability to use almost anything as bait to reel in a catch, much to the amazement and amusement of her family. This skill was just one of the many ways she expressed her adventurous and fun-loving nature.
Beyond her hobbies, Joyce’s heart was truly golden, always open and giving. She loved her family fiercely and extended her generosity to all those around her. Her laughter was contagious, her warmth, boundless, and her capacity to love, endless.
We take comfort in knowing that she has now reunited with her beloved husband Michael, her parents, and her brothers Thomas and Leonard.
