After graduation from Mardela Springs High School in 1976, Martin was self-employed for much of his life, Martin was known as a hands-on, skilled worker whose perseverance inspired all who knew him. His work was not just a job but a passion that he carried into every endeavor, whether working his own fields, tending his crops, or driving a log truck through the early morning hours.
Martin was the beloved husband of Lynn Hatton. They married in November of 1979, sharing a devoted marriage of 45 years. Together they built a life centered on loyalty, laughter, and shared dreams that enriched the lives of those around them. Farming was his life’s calling. In 1976 he turned his dream into a thriving dairy farm.
In the last five years, Martin brought his strong work ethic and commitment to Owen’s Oil Company, in Centerville, Tennessee. There, he became not only a valued employee but a respected friend and mentor. His connection to the satisfaction he found in a good day’s work was evident to everyone he met. The team at Owen’s, like his family and friends, will miss his humor, his stories, and his genuine kindness.
In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his brothers, Alan Hatton and Danny Hatton.
