McCormick, Roy William
Roy William McCormick, a cherished family man and esteemed colleague, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, at the age of 77, in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Born on January 28, 1946, in Escambia, Florida, to parents Edgar and Clyde E. Stevens McCormick, Roy’s life was marked by devotion to his loved ones, a commitment to service, and an unwavering spirit of friendliness that touched all who knew him.
Roy went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force, while also obtaining a bachelor’s degree. His patriotism and dedication to his nation were further exemplified in his civilian career as an internal review officer for the Department of Defense. Roy’s intelligence and friendly demeanor made him a well-regarded figure in his professional circles.
He was a loving husband to his late wife, Karen McCormick, and a guiding light to his children. He took immense pride in his son, Charles R McCormick, and was a caring stepfather to Cyndi Black. Roy was also a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his siblings, Barbara Prather and Faye Adams. While the loss of his son, Roy William McCormick Jr., and daughter, Regina K. McCormick Zurbay, preceded him in passing, the memories and love they shared continue to bring comfort to the family.
