Stanton Bailey Howell, known to many as “Moose”, was born on January 16, 1954, in Centerville, Tennessee, and passed away on June 28, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 69 years old. He was raised and resided in Hickman County until moving to Dickson for the past several years.

He is the son of the late Clarence “Happy” Howell and Elva Mae Elliot Vaughn.

He is survived by his daughter Brandy Howell of Pearland, Texas. His siblings Larry Dotson, Phillip Dotson, and Charles Howell. Grandchildren Moe, Tye, and Zoe Marsh. Special friends Eric and Donna England and Monica DePriest and many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Mr. Howell enjoyed a long career at Turney Center until his retirement.

He liked to hunt and fish. He especially loved hunting birds and turkey. He also could be found at the ballpark and spent a lot of time there coaching and playing softball.

He will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends, and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time.

The family kindly request in lieu of flowers, arrangements that can be taken home be sent so they can continue to grow, be cherished and honor Moose’s memory.
