Ripley mourns the death of Mr. W. H. Flippen, which occurred at his home near town last Sunday morning of dropsy, after an illness of several weeks. He was one of Lauderdale’s best citizens, a most enterprising, industrious farmer and a gentleman whose life measured up to the plane of honor and integrity in its broadest, truest sense. His remains were laid to rest Monday afternoon in Maplewood Cemetery.
