I am researching the families of Dougald Ferguson and wife Nancy Dyer, John Sheppard and wife Nancy Jane Watts, William T. Sheppard, William Jasper Sheppard, and Alfred Brooks and wife Nancy Sheppard. All lived generally in the Sardis and Reagan areas roughly between 1820 and 1920. Please contact me if you have any information about these families.
My 4th great grandparents were William Moore and Rachel Ferguson, married in 1815, in Wilkes County, North Carolina; then they moved into Henderson County, Tennessee. Is there a chance that Dougald Ferguson was a brother of Rachel? Do you know where Dougald lived before he moved to Tennessee?
