Thank you so very much for this post to my email. I appreciate others who help with family researchers. I see the name of my great grand Uncle, Britton Smith. The name on the list is spelled Briteon Smith but I think this is just a misspelling since I already know that he was a Union soldier with the USA Co C, 7th Calvary. He escaped capture by Gen. Forrest possibly because he was with a detachment sent to southern Illinois. However he contracted and died of pneumonia on 16 Oct 1863.
