Delana EPPERSON was born in Dickson Co., TN about 1821, supposedly
walked trail of tears age 16, married Jacob COOK, had three
daughters, Cathern who married Reuben MOORE, parents of Mary Delena.
Lucena married William Jackson LONG, parents of Thomas Melvin LONG
who married cousin Mary Delena. All lived in NE Oklahoma. Thomas
and Mary were parents of my grandfather, James Alfred LONG born Feb.
1894 or 1896 in Indian Territory. All are buried Russell Creek
Cemetery in OK. Delena married HEATH, then WILLIAMS, died as Delena
WILLIAMS. Grandfather, his sisters who still live in Miami, OK
remember going to be registered as Cherokees, but never could provide
proof--I have looked for years and cannot find any record in Dawes
Roll. They first thought roll#101 Thomas Long was their father, but
research showed that he was too young at the time. ANY HELP to
proove or completely disprove this story would be totally awesome.

Can someone tell me if there is a town by the name of Peley or Feley
in Dickson Co.? I recently received a court document from the
archives and that was the name of the town. I would also be
interested in corresponding with anyone researching the name of
MATHIS,MATHEWS, MATTHEWS or any spelling of that name you can come up
with. Also the administrator of the estate of my ancestor was A.G.
SHELTON. I also believe that he (PERRY HARVEY MATHEWS) married a
LYDIA LEATHERS in Dickson Co. about 1856. Any info would be
gratefully excepted!

I remember from a visit to the town of Dickson (way back in
1986), that one of the cemeteries in or near town had a gravestone
marked Tubbs. (I remember it is located directly in back of one with
the name Wallace on it.) At the time, I didn't realize this person
was actually "family", though a little distant.
Here's what I need: I'd like to visit both gravesites (and any known
Tubb/Tubbs homes or historical sites -- including that of George Tubb
Cooksey) on a coming visit to the Dickson County area. Can someone
tell me where I might find them?
Thank you so much!

Looking for TAYLORs in Dickson.
Census records show a widow, Lockey TAYLOR (b: ca.
1791-1794), 3 sons and 2 daughters.
Her husband was Edward TAYLOR, died in 1819. I believe their
sons were named Gibson (married Emily PARROT), Nicholas C. (married
Matilda FARRAR), and B. (died in 1841, possibly leaving a daughter,
Lockey who was raised by her grandmother). Lockey TAYLOR (Jr.) was
born about 1826-1830. She married Joseph EDWARDS 27 December 1849 in
Dickson.
I have records in Dickson of a William TAYLOR (b: ca. 1794 in TN
or SC). By 1833 he was in Fayette, Illinois. I believe William was a
brother to the above Edward, but can find no proof. William and
unknown wife had many children. I know of 4: Nancy (b: ca. 1815,
married James Hurt ELAM), Lockey (b: ca. 1821 in SC?, married Richard
H. ELAM), Nathan Edward (b: Jan. of 1827, married Martha DRAKE or
BIRCH), and Allen (b: 25 March 1829 in Perry, TN?, married Ellen
