Golden Wedding Celebration Held For Mr., Mrs. Tucker
PARSONS, Tenn. — Mr. and Mrs. Jess Tucker were honored on their golden wedding anniversary with open house by their daughter, Miss Laverne Tucker, and son, Dwayne Tucker of Memphis, at their home on Lexington Hwy., Spt. 11.
In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Tucker, Laverne and Dwayne. Mrs. Tucker was radiant in a one piece iridescent silk creation. She pinned a corsage of yellow roses at her shoulder. Miss Tucker chose a two piece ensemble of floral silk featuring a lace jacket. She pinned a corsage of yellow pompoms at her shoulder.
Miss Mary Mitchell, cousin of the couple, kept the guest register.
The reception rooms were decorated with lovely gift arrangements of gold chrysanthemums, gold daisies, and gold gladioli.
Gifts were placed in the bedrooms for the guests to view. A tour of the house, furnished with beautiful antiques, was made by guests.
Refreshments were served from a table covered with gold satin and overlaid with white net. Gold strips were placed down the center of the table and caught up at each end with a satin bow. An arrangement of bronze chrysanthemums in a gold container graced the center of the table. The tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature gold vase containing tiny white flowers with the figure "50" placed near the base, was placed at one end of the serving table.
Punch, nuts, cake squares and mints were served by Mrs. Louise Martin and Mrs. Ben French. Others assisting in the hospitalities were Mrs. Coy Sullivan, Mrs. Brown Thompson, Mrs. Nellie Swift, and Miss Adebelle Aaron.
Out of town guests and relatives attending were Miss Sue Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Rhodes, and Ray Woods of Humboldt, Joe K. Walker, Mrs. Joann Walker of Bethel Springs, Paul Rogers of Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Aaron and boys, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin and boys, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Aaron and boys, and Mr. and Mrs. Dorsie Bailey from Lexington, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Martin and Miss Martin of Reagon.

About 225 guests called between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m. The Tuckers received many letters and cards from former students whom they had taught in their teaching careers.
