McLemoresville Items – March 12, 1897
The following items appeared in the McLemoresville Items column of the March 12, 1897 issue of the Carroll County Democrat.

- Public school closed last Friday, still the school is well attended, several teachers having entered recently.
- Dave WOODS has gone east to lay in his spring goods.
- Messr. Robt. MCKINNEY and Jno. HAILEY were in Huntingdon Monday on business.
- HURDLE Bros. shipped a car load of hogs Saturday.
- The Ladies Aid Society gave a supper last Thursday night at the residence of Mr. W.H. McKINNEY, proceeds are for improving the church building. All enjoyed the sweet music of the string band as well as the sumptuous repast.
- Miss Mamie McKINNEY is visiting her aught, Mrs. BRAMLEY.
- Mrs. Alice and Miss Bettie CHANCE visited friends in Trezvant last Thusrdsay.
- Mrs. Fannie ENLOE has been out rusticating for the past few days.
- Mrs. L.L. STEM, after several weeks sickness, is able to be out again.
- Dr. T.W. SALT filled his regular appointment at Yuman Sunday.
- Prof. Wesley WILLIAMS who has been teaching in First district for some months is at home for a short while.
- Prof. Luther McKINNEY having closed his school at Macedonia will spend some months at home looking after his interest in the milling business.
