Marriage: GORDON, B.G. (Dr.) and HAYNES, Cordelia (1897)
Last Sunday Dr. B.G. GORDON and Miss Cordelia HAYNES, of Macedonia, took their friends by surprise by driving to McKenzie and getting married. The ceremony was said by Rev. Mr. CRAWFORD while the contracting parties occupied seats in their buggy. After the marriage vows had been taken they drove to the home of the groom and were the recipients of many congratulations and well wishes from their large circle of friends. This is the happy consummation of a courtship of about fourteen years standing. Dr. GORDON is one of Carroll county’s best citizens, a fine physician and enjoys a lucrative practice. The bride is a most estimable lady, possessing the high esteem of a large acquaintance and the union is certainly a happy one. The DEMOCRAT extends congratulations and wishes them a happy married life.
