JOHNSON, Mollie – (d. 1897)
Miss Mollie JOHNSON, daughter of Alexander and Ellen JOHNSON, was born Oct. 14, 1866. After a lingering struggle with that dreadful disease, consumption, died at her home two miles south of Huntingdon, March 6, 1897. She professes religion in August, 1881, and joined the M.E. Church, South at Mt. Zion and lived a consistent christian until death. She suffered much in her last sickness but did not murmur. She bore her afflictions with christian fortitude.
We would say to the bereaved ones, weep not as those who have no hopes. We shall see her again, not as we saw her here – pale and weary, but in the bloom of youth with a crown of glory on her head. “Blessed are the dead who dies in the Lord.” Her remains were buried Sunday evening at the Humble graveyard Bro. I.S. ENOCHS conducting the funeral service. To her parents, brothers and sister we would say look t Jesus Christ who can heal your broken hearts. May you all meet Mollie in heaven is our prayer. – A Friend.
