I James A. Gooch being of sound mind do make this my last will and Testament provoking all other will made at any other time by me.
1st I Bequeath my body to the Dust from whence it came and my Soul to god who gave it.
2nd. I want all my Debts payed my Burial and funeral Expences paid first out of any money that may be in the hands of my Executors.
3rd I bequeath to my Beloved Mother Eliza J. Pinson all of my Estate real and personal including the Legacy coming to me from North Carolina from my grand Mother Gooch
4th I want my Executors hearafter appointed to take all of property in to his hands and Sell all of my personal property to the best advantage on a credit of twelve months and to collect all moneys coming to me by Note and Account and from the Confederate State of America for Services as a Soldier and pay over to my said Mother as she needs it not Extravagintly but as he thinks her and her family needs it in a reasonable way and that he have reasonable pay for his servises
5th I appoint my trusty friend Isaac Pinson my Executor of this my last will and Testament
