Hannah Rose Will (1854)

In the name of God Amen I Hannah Rose of the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and disposing memory but on the decline of life do make and constitute this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me
First I hereby constitute and appoint my friend and neighbor Robert M. Hurt my Executor to this my last will and request that at my death he take charge of my Estate booth personal and real dispose of it in the manner and by the directions herein given
2nd I require my Executors to pay all of my just debts collect the money due me from all and every person
3rd I direct that my said executor will sell the tract of land upon which I now reside on a credit of one and two years and also the negro man named David who he will sell on a credit of twelve months. I direct that my Executor will sell all of my household and kitchen furniture togather with my stock of every kind the crop that may be on hand at my death
3rd It is my will that all the proceeds from the sale of the land the negro man David the sale of stock household and kitchen furniture and the crop that may be on hand at my death togather with the amount that may be realized from debts due me at my death after paying all just debts shall be equally divided between the following named children (to wit)
Christian Knot wife of Sterling Knot Jane Barham wife of Lowel Barham Sara Patterson Delany Mc Gee wife of Harmon Mc Gee David Rose, John M. Rose and Elizabeth Huston wife of George Huston that portion drawn by Sarah Patterson in the event that she shall die and leave no living child it is my will that the amount shall com back to my Estate and be divided between the rest of those named above
4th I require my said Executor to pay to my daughter Mattince Perry wife of John Perry one dollar
5th I require that my said Executor pay to Jonathan Rose one dollar and it is my will that the one dollar paid to the last two named heirs shall constitute their part and entire interest in my Estate
In witness whereof I do hereby sign this my last will and testament This the 2nd day of August 1854
