BRANDON, H.S. – (d. 1897)
H.S. BRANDON, of the Clarksburg community, died last Friday morning after an illness of several weeks. Mr. BRANDON was 75 years old, a member of the Christian church and a highly respected citizen. He was well known to the people of our town, having carried the mail from this place to Clarksburg for several years and was engaged in that business when he was taken sick. His wife died a few weeks ago and Mr. BRANDON never completely rallied from the grief brought upon him by her loss, and that, coupled with his old age, caused his death. Mr. BRANDON, as we knew him, was a kind-hearted, noble old man, and one who commanded the entire respect and confidence of all who were acquainted with him. He was buried Saturday at the Sellers graveyard, the services being conducted by Rev. John JOHNSON in the presence of a large number of friends.
