{B H F Phillps to deed 10 acres Alexander Bryant}

This indenture made this seventh day of February in the year of out lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one, by and between Benjamin H F Phillps of the County of Cannon and the state of Tennessee of the first part, and Alexander Bryant of the said county ond state of Tennessee the second part and Susana Bryant of the said county county and state on the third part wintesseth that the said Benjamin H F Phillps for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said parties of the second and third parts the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Susana Bryant and her heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land being and lying in Cannon County and State aforesaid butted and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning on a sugartree on the north side of a hill in William West’s line running thence north 65 degrees east with West’s line one hundred poles to a walnut West’s corner thence north with West’s line ten poles to a maple James Taylor’s corner thence west with Taylor’s line forty one poles to a stake St John’s corner thence south with St John’s line fifty three poles to a stake near St John’s corner thence west with St John’s line sixty three poles to the beginning containing ten acres be the same more or less. I covenant for myself and heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title of the same against all persons whatever now the true intent and meaning of the above tract to Alexander Bryant and Susana Bryant during their joint and several lives but on their deaths, then this described and granted tract of land shall descend to their heirs in fee simple forever in witness whereof have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first written. H F Phillps (seal) {In the presence of us Elizabeth Church R Fowler} { State of Tennessee Cannon County} Personally appeared before me, Rezin Fowler Clerk of the County Court of said Cannon County the within named B H F Phillips the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged the he executed the written deed for the purposes therein contained.
