Current Web-based Options (non-social media)
The most-popular on-line message sharing forum is Ancestry.com’s message boards system. A paid Ancestry user account is not required to use the system.
Defunct Options; Data Remains Available On-line
Over the years, several options for researchers to post family and local history inquires have existed. Many of those systems are now defunct, but the data remain available. Other sites remain on-line. The predominance of social media groups has caused other on-line options to wither. Some links are provided for those who wish to dig through the archives.
