ROGERS, Samuel from Washington County. Offence: Stabbing. Sentence: 2 years. Rec'd Dec. 6th 1837. He is 21 years old, five feet Eleven inches high, Weighs one hundred and Sixty three pounds. Born & Bro[ugh]t up in Washington County, Tennessee. One & half miles from Elija EMBREES Roling Mill & Nail factory Where his father Reuben ROGERS Now lives. He has one Uncle who lives in Indiana on the waters of White River. Also one in Clayborn County, Powells Valley, Tennessee. He has Black hair, dark skin and eyes, good countenance. He has a Scar in the left Eye Brow & a Mole on his Right Cheek, a Scar on the Back part of the left hand, has worked at Blacksmithing Business. SOURCE: Convict Record Book, 183 1-1842.
