1. John 1 McCoy was born 1801 in East TN or KY, and died August 05, 
1874 in Van Buren Co, TN. He married Nancy Hatfield February 21, 1828 in 
Wayne Co, KY by David Duncan, Justice of the Peace. She was the youngest  daughter of Alexander Hatfield and Milla Gibson, and born August 22, 1810 in Wayne Co, KY, and died December 15, 1891 in Van Buren Co, TN. John & Nancy were the parents of 15 children most of whom were born in Campbell County, TN. Thirteen children survived and 12 married. A daughter of John & Nancy, Louisa McCoy, remembered her home in Campbell County and often spoke of the family and their life back home. Louisa was my Great-Great Grandmother.

+ 2 i. Andrew E.2 McCoy, born February 24, 1829 in Wayne Co, 
KY; died October 1863 in the Civil War. He married Mary Gibson July 07, 1854 in Campbell Co, TN, ceremony performed by Nicholas Patterson, daughter of Finley Gibson and Jane Gatliff. She was born January 1835 in TN, and died Bet. 1900-1910 in Knox Co, KY.

+ 3 ii. Millie Ann McCoy, born March 23, 1830 in Wayne Co, KY; 
died May 27, 1902 in Barren Co, KY. She married Redin Smith August 20, 1848 in Campbell Co, TN by Allen McDonald, Justice of the Peace, son of John Smith and Keziah Gibson. He was born July 28, 1827 in Campbell Co, TN, and died January 28, 1906 in Barren Co. KY.

+ 4 iii. William Riley McCoy, born July 03, 1831 in Wayne Co, KY; died September 23, 1898 in Barren Co, KY or Scott Co, TN. He married Martha Hurtt November 07, 1856 in Scott Co, TN by James Lay, Minister of Gospel, daughter of John Hurtt and Frances Bruton. She was born February 04, 1834 in Wayne Co, KY, and died May 02, 1897 in Barren Co, KY or Scott Co, TN.

+ 5 iv. George W. McCoy, born January 28, 1833 in Wayne Co, KY; died August 05, 1863 in Battle of Duck River, TN Civil War. He married Martha Unknown 1857. She was born 1840 in TN.

+ 6 v. Joseph McCoy, born November 18, 1833 in Campbell Co, TN; died May 09, 1906 in Barren Co, KY. He married (1) Salina Adkins July 06, 1862 in Campbell Co, TN. She was born March 12, 1843 in Campbell Co, TN, and died October 30, 1888 in Barren Co, KY. He married (2) Mrs. Lucy Francis Wade Wilson 1893 in KY, daughter of Alfred Wade and Sarah Slaton. She was born May 23, 1856 in Barren Co, KY, and died April 11, 1937 in Barren Co, KY.

+ 7 vi. Francis Marion McCoy, born April 05, 1835 in Monticello, Wayne Co, KY; died December 31, 1918 near Pilot Point, Denton Co, TX. He married Mary V. 1872 in TX. She was born 1856 in TX, and died Bef. 1900 in Pilot Point, Denton Co, TX.

8 vii. Elizabeth 'Betty' McCoy, born October 19, 1836 in Campbell Co, 
TN; died 1916 in White Co, TN. 

+ 9 viii. John L. McCoy, born February 20, 1840 in Campbell Co, TN; died August 10, 1918 in Van Buren Co, TN. He married Zerraware T. Gibson March02, 1869 in Jackson Co, N. C. by L. G. Ward, Justice of the Peace, daughter of Henry Gibson and Elizabeth Patterson. She was born January 19, 1850 in Campbell Co, TN, and died February 02, 1928 in Van Buren Co, TN.

+ 10 ix. Martin T. McCoy, born July 26, 1842 in Campbell Co, TN; died 1899 in Van Buren Co, TN. He married (1) Eva Ann Grissom November 26, 1870 in Van Buren Co, TN, daughter of Toliver Grissom and Isabella Shockley. She was born 1855 in Van Buren County, TN, and died 1877 in Coffee Co, TN or Van Buren Co, TN. He married (2) Cleranda Grissom 1878, daughter of Toliver Grissom and Isabella Shockley. She was born 1857 in Van Buren Co, TN, and died 1906 in Van Buren Co, TN.

+ 11 x. Nancy R. McCoy, born May 27, 1844 in Campbell Co, TN; died 1929/1930 in White Co, TN. She married Samuel Clarke Swindle August 09, 1868 in White Co, TN, son of Christopher Swindle and Eliza Webb. He was born January 1844 in Tennessee, and died 1906 in White Co, TN.

+ 12 xi. Louisa McCoy, born February 28, 1846 in Campbell Co, TN; died February 16, 1915 in the 6th District Van Buren Co, TN. She married John Rhodes Grissom March 24, 1871, son of Toliver Grissom and Isabelle Shockley. He was born November 05, 1847 in Van Buren Co, TN, and died June 19, 1914 in the 6th District Van Buren Co, TN.

13 xii. Sarena McCoy, born July 06, 1848 in Campbell Co, TN; died before 1850 Campbell Co, TN. *NOTE: the only record to date of this daughter is from my grandmother's history and referenced in the Haston/Grissom Bible.

+ 14 xiii. Ewel W. McCoy, born January 01, 1850 in Campbell Co, TN; died December 26, 1910 in Van Buren Co, TN. He married Nancy H. Jane Halterman December 30, 1869 in Warren Co. TN. She was born October 18,
1852 in Warren Co, TN, and died January 23, 1913 in Bardwell, Carlisle Co, KY.

15 xiv. Permealie McCoy, born February 02, 1852 in Campbell Co, TN; died before 1860 Campbell Co, TN. *NOTE: the only record to date of this daughter is from my grandmother's history and referenced in the Haston/Grissom Bible.

+ 16 xv. Nicholas Patterson McCoy, born August 28, 1855 in Campbell Co, TN; died May 18, 1926 in Barren Co, KY. He married Ida McCormick 1873, daughter of Benjamin McCormick. She was born October 11, 1857 in TN, and died March 28, 1934 in Barren Co, KY.
