RAGSDALE

Interested in any RAGSDALE’s especially the two Edward RAGSDALE’sthat died in Williamson Co. (#1 d. May 25, 1823 and #2 d. 1808?). I assume one of them was on the tax list for Gibson Co., TN in 1822/23. Does anyone know who they were?

CAPLEY

I am searching for information and hopefully photographs of my great, great grandfather Gabriel (Gabe) CAPLEY b. Oct. 19, 1831 in Bed. Co., TN. and d. March 22, 1920 in Williamson Co., TN. He was married #1 Mary Ann SHORT on Dec. 23, 1855 in Bed. Co., #2 Nancy Eviline ORR Feb 23, 1867 in Bed. Co., #3 Emilie MARTIN Sept 21, 1907 or Nov. 1908 in Williamson Co. He was a Union private in the 10th Tenn. Inf. Co. E of the Civil War and also was a blacksmith. According to family info. he is buried in an unmarked grave in the Gabe Capley Family Cemetery near the Hickman Co. border near Primm Springs. I am interested in erecting a military marker for him and would like to talk with descendants to help in determing the exact location of his grave. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking info on Jeremiah Irvin/Irwin b abt 1800 and wife Eliz b 1806 VA, children : Andrew 1823 Ill; Isaac 1825 Ill; Jeremiah 1830 Ill; Mary Ann 1835 TN; and James 1840 TN. There were three Andrew Irvins in TN – Williamson, Shelby and Stewart Co. and one Isaac Irwin in White Co. and one J.H. Irwin in Hamilton Co. in 1840. PEAVY

I’m trying to confirm burial of HENRY PEAVY in the Confederate Cemetery in/near Franklin. He was reported killed in the Nov. 30, 1864 Battle of Franklin, TN having served with Co. H, 7th Texas Infantry Regiment. He was my great-grandfather’s brother and I’d be deeply grateful if anyone has “read” the tombstones and can confirm his burial site.

Researching John T BURKE born c 1842 Ire. He died Sept 1897 in Nashville, TN. He worked for RR and died after being hit by a locomotive. CYRUS (SYRUS, SIRES) AND WALLER

I welcome info exchange with anyone doing research on the CYRUS (see other spellings) and WALLER family’s of Williamson County, TN. They seem to have originated form North Carolina and Virginia around the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. I am a direct relative of James CYRUS (b. 1820 in NC) and Sarah Ann WALLER (b.1824). JOHNSTON

Looking for information on the family of John B. Johnston, who settled in Williamson Co. around 1800. The family was promenient in the county for a number of years, and Johnson Chapel Methodist Church is named for them, as they gave the land on which it was built. John and a number of his descendents are buried in the graveyard of that church.
