George W. GARRETT (b.1791-VA) and Harriet ANDERSON (b.1802-VA) married on 2-10-1817 in Williamson Co, TN. George W. GARRETT was one of the “original TN Vols” having joined the 1st West Tennessee Militia (Nov. 1814 – May 1815) at Camp Haynes. He was in MetcalfeAEs Regiment, Captain DillahuntyAEs/Captain Bradford’s company. Does anyone know where Camp Haynes was located and if this regiment fought at the Battle of New Orleans? George had a younger brother (Caleb, b.1795-VA) who was in the same militia unit. Also, if anyone knows, I would appreciate info on parents or other family members and the originating county (or counties) in VA. George and Harriet lived about 20 years in Williamson, Hickman and Wayne counties in TN before moving to Tippah Co, MS about 1837, where they lived another 30 or more years. Harriet died prior to 1870; George died in 1870. George W. GARRETT was my gg-grandfather. Any information or leads will be appreciated.

My g-g-grandfather, George W. Garrett (b.1791-VA) married Harriet Anderson (b.1802-VA) in Williamson Co, TN on 2-10-1817. They later lived in Hickman and Wayne counties before moving to Tippah Co, MS in 1837. Does anyone have information on their parents and/or what county in VA? George enlisted in War of 1812 at Camp Haynes on 11-13-1814 and served until 5-13-1815. He was in Metcalfe’s 1st West TN Militia (Capt. Dillahunty & Capt. Bradford). Does anyone know if this unit was in the Battle of New Orleans? Also, where was Camp Haynes? George had a younger brother, Caleb Garrett (b.1795-VA) who was in the same unit.
