I’m interested in learning about my ancestors, the Andrews family, who
moved from Virginia to Tennessee (Franklin/Harpeth area) around 1810-
1820. The original settlers were Mark Andrews and his sons George and
Ephraim. They settled on what is now Harpeth-Peytonsville Road just
south of Franklin.

WHITE and McSWINE
Brothers Charles White, Jr. and Jesse White moved to Williamson Co. from
Chatham Co., NC. Jesse moved ca 1804 to the area of Lepur’s Fork of West
Harpeth and Charles White, Jr. moved there circa 1814.Both of these
families moved to Hickman Co. during the 1820s/1830s. Jesse White had
the following children: Polly/Mary who marr. Thornton Perry, Malinda who
was married by 1828, Lucinda who was dead by 1828, Rosana who married
Joel Claiborne Hobbs, Neal?Cornelius, Eli who later lived in Humphreys
Co., Jehu who marr. nancy Harmon, Margaret who was marr. by 1828, and
another son whose first name began with H.
Moving to Williamson Co. circa 1804 was the John McSwine family. John d.
there in 1815 and was involved in a number of court cases. John
McSwine’s wife was Martha Andrews who appears to be related to Samuel
Andrews who was elected constable in 1812; they also appear to be related
to John Andrews whose property was on the Natchez Road out from West
Harpeth. I have much information to share and hope to find more.
