WOLFORD, William M., carpenter; German-Irish descent; born Nov.18, 1829 at Blountville, Tenn; son of William and Catherine (Drake) WOLFORD; paternal grandparents George and Mary (Smith) WOLFORD, maternal grandparents Jacob and Catherine (Foust) DRAKE; educated in local county schools; began life as farmer, later was a carpenter, etc.; married Feb. 19, 1856, Amanda BUSHONG; served in state militia 1847-1860, Confederate Army in Civil War; independent Democrat; member of Lutheran church.
