REAMS, Radford M.

REAMS, Radford M., editor; born Spring Hill, Tenn., June 20, 1857; son of Joshua M. and Harriet (Haley) REAMS; father’s occupation, merchant and contractor; received common school education; entered printing office at age of 12; served apprenticeship in office of “North Alabamian and Times” at Tuscumbia, Ala.; worked in that office until fall of 1875; moved to McMinnville, Tenn., in summer of 1876, and worked on “New Era” for seven years; purchased interest in “Southern Standard” in 1882, and in 1885 purchased the entire business, and since that time has been editor and publisher of same; married Jesse COFFEE, July 3, 1889; Democrat (independent); U.S. commissioner; member of Southern Presbyterian church.
