McCARVER, John L., farmer and stock dealer; born Tamaroa, Ill., Nov. 15, 1865; son of Logan H. and Mary N. (Osborn) McCARVER; father was a famer and tobacco dealer; received common school education and in early life became a farmer; at present engaged in farming and live stock breeding and is a dealer and breeder of high grade Jacks and Jennets; married Leona C. NICHOLS Nov. 3, 1884; member I. O. O. F., served as Secretary of lodge up to July 1, 1910; member of Democratic Executive Committee of Jackson Co., Tenn., for a number of years; Justice of the Peace and Notary Public; is a Steward in the Methodist Episcopal church South, and has served for the last three years as Sunday School Superintendent.
