LEEPER, Francis I., minister of the gospel; born Talladega Co., Ala., Aug. 1, 1874; Scotch and Dutch descent; son of Samuel and Ellemorah (Stone) LEEPER; father’s occupation, farmer; educated Lower Peach Tree, Ala., graduated Columbia, S. C., May 1, 1871; married twice, first Eliza Jane CRAWFORD, Dec. 22, 1870, second Hallie Morford COFFEE, Jan. 8, 1901; member Masons; entered the Confederate army at age of 16 and served two years; served four years as evangelist of Nashville Presbytery, twice as pastor at McMinnville, Tenn., and has for some years been pastor at Jefferson City, Tenn.; member of Presbyterian church.
