HALL, George Wallace, financial agent Hall-Moody Institute; born near Martin, Tenn., Nov. 15, 1855; English decent [sic]; son of James H. and Ellen (Scates) HALL; father’s occupation, farmer; educated in the public schools of Weakley Co., Tenn.; in early life was a farmer, later entered the mercantile business; married Sallie I. FREEMAN, Nov. 23, 1880; Republican; formerly connected with city affairs as alderman, and treasurer for twenty years; one of the committee which planned and built the water and light plant at Martin, Tenn.; member of the Baptist church; president Builder Publishing Co.; secretary Weakley Tel. Co.; director People’s Bank; stockholder in a number of corporations.
