W. lodges; member Kappa Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa fraternities; has been member at various times of geological surveys in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina; is now on Kentucky and Tennessee geological surveys; does consulting geological work; member Presbyterian Church.
