FRAZIER, John Brown (Chaplain)

John Brown FRAZIER was the son of the Rev. Andrew Jackson FRAZIER and Josephine Brown FRAZIER.  He was born in a parsonage home, at Tazewell, Virginia, December 19, 1870.

Chaplain FRAZIER died at his home “The Anchorage,” Keswick, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 11, 1939.  He had been in failing health for some time.  His sister, Mrs. Vic Frazier FAULKNER, had been with him constantly for may months. Her services brought him great comfort in those last painful months.

Funeral services were conducted in the home and at the Chapel at Arlington. Two of the Chaplain’s close friends, Clergymen who lived near him, a Methodist Minister, Rev. D.D. HOLT, and an Episcopal Minister, Dr. ROBINSON, conducted the service at “The Anchorage”  at 10 o’clock on Monday, 13th, of November.  The service at Arlington Chapel, including full military honors, took place at two o’clock the afternoon of the same day, followed by interment in the National Cemetery.

On Sunday, June 30, 1940, a memorial tablet, erected by the Chaplain’s Corps, US Navy, was dedicated with tender and reverent services and ceremony;
